ICE Float Wins Second Consecutive Sweepstakes Award in Phoenix Holiday Parade

PHOENIX (December 6, 2006) A light-covered parade float designed, built and operated by the employees of International Cruise & Excursions, Inc. (ICE) for the 20th annual APS Electric Light Parade through downtown Phoenix won the group its second consecutive Sweepstakes Award. The nighttime parade is a highlight of the annual five-week Fiesta of Lights festival sponsored by Arizona Public Service (APS), Arizona's largest electric utility, which transforms downtown and central Phoenix into a holiday wonderland of light displays and activities.

Working with the parade theme "Southwest Holiday Traditions," ICE employees created a float with a cruise ship and a mission-style resort to illustrate the amount of traveling that takes place during the holidays. Covered with 30,000 lights, the float featured howling coyotes, a 10-foot-tall cactus and a "snowman" built of tumbleweeds. The float was edged with electric luminaria bearing the ICE logo.

Riding on the float wearing fluorescent ICE hats, flashing sunglasses and strands of illuminated lights were a number of ICE employees including ICE president and CEO John Rowley and his youngest daughter, Haley.

For the second year in a row, the float entered by ICE won the Sweepstakes Award for the Best Large Commercial Float. Last year's winning entry illustrated the parade theme "Lights, Camera, Magic" with a lighted collage of oversize vacation pictures. ICE has participated in the parade since 2003.

This year's parade was estimated to have attracted as many as 200,000 spectators who gathered along the route to watch floats, performance groups and bands, all decorated in holiday lights.
