Unique Travel Conference Includes Fundraiser for Christel HouseTimeshare and Cruise Executives Become Part of "Caring, Sharing and Making a Difference"PHOENIX (February 3, 2006) – A unique week-long gathering of top-level timeshare and cruise executives hosted by International Cruise & Excursions, Inc. (ICE) included silent and live auctions that raised more than $100,000 for the benefit of Indianapolis-based Christel House International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting impoverished, orphaned and abandoned children in six countries. ICE, a Christel House Alliance Partner, conducts several fundraisers for the organization each year. The silent auction was for 12 pieces of artwork created by the children of Christel House. The live auction included items ranging from cases of wine to resort and cruise vacations. The auctions were part of ICE's "The Powers at Sea," an exclusive conference held onboard Windstar® Cruises' Wind Surf, January 22nd through 29th. The 154-cabin sailing vessel, the largest of Windstar's fleet, was chartered especially for the sold out event which was attended by senior level executives from major cruise lines worldwide and top resort developers from the United States, Mexico, Europe and Australia, as well as representatives from major leisure travel associations worldwide including the United States' American Resort Development Association (ARDA), Mexico's Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo (FONATUR), the Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council (ATHOC) and the Organization for Timeshare in Europe (OTE). ICE became involved with Christel House through personal and professional contacts with Christel DeHaan, the organization's founder and president. Marcia Rowley, who with her husband John founded ICE, explains that Christel House's unique set of priorities and vision for the future make it ICE's charity of choice. "Christel House focuses 100 percent on human potential and significance," says Rowley. "They provide a bright future for children worldwide.
