(ICE) attained a record-setting level of cruise sales in the third quarter of 2005. The company's gross sales revenues were up 16 percent over the same quarter last year. The company has tracked steady sales growth since it was founded in 1997 and currently produces more than $275 million in annual sales. Initially founded as a cruise exchange company where timeshare owners could exchange their weeks toward cruises, ICE has dramatically broadened its cruise exchange services through internally developed leading-edge Internet and software technologies. After posting record sales revenues for two consecutive quarters, ICE is preparing for the cruise industry's annual boom sales period, known as Wave Season, which takes place during the first quarter of each year. "Being an innovative company in the rapidly growing cruise and travel industry has resulted in exponential growth for ICE since its inception," said John Rowley, chairman and CEO. "During the fourth quarter of 2005, we'll be concentrating on continuing our current record sales pace while gearing up for Wave Season 2006." According to Kevin Barber, executive vice president of sales and sales operations for ICE, a key element in gearing the company up for Wave Season will be the hiring and training of additional sales consultants to handle the anticipated influx of cruise bookings. "This upcoming Wave Season is very exciting," stated Barber. "We've substantially expanded our recruiting and training. Additionally, we've developed a very competitive compensation plan including travel rewards, bonus levels and career path options for our employees. We can really feel the excitement building throughout the company." During the third quarter, Randy Buness, CPA, a senior financial executive in the Valley, joined ICE as its chief financial officer. A graduate of Seattle University and Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management in Glendale, Ariz., Buness has more than 25 years' experience in executive management and financial leadership.
